The Gujarat Common Entrance Test (GCET) was introduced for the first time in the
year 2002 for admission to all the Master of Computer Application (MCA) programmes
conducted by the Universities in Gujarat State. This was done to provide a single
window system of admissions to MCA programmes of various Universities of Gujarat.
It is basically conducting in the month of June/July every year. Since 2009, it
is online test to test the aptitude of students on various parameter and topics.
The pattern of GCET 2012 is same like other state and national level Entrance Exams
like CAT, MAT, and SNAP etc. GCET MCA 2012 will be a computer based test but the
overall structure and syllabus will remain the same as GCET 2011. It mostly consists
of Quantitative ability, data interpretation, English Language Skill and Mathematics.
The GCET MCA 2012 will conduct to measure four broad areas of ability by way of its different unique test pattern:
• Quantitative ability
• Analytical and Logical Reasoning
• Language Ability
• Mathematics/Business Mathematics/Statistics up to the 12th standard
